Community Events Announcement

For many years now, the Barbarian Family has provided the community with the Barbarian Heal Out event; A contest that tested speed and skill.

Those who believe they are the best of the best at the game can now prove it and show they are the best to all.

In order to ensure fairness for all competitors regardless of strength ((Statistics)), to reduce the impact of luck, and to run a well-structured tournament, additional rules have been added to BHO and a points system has been adopted (which favors strong, consistent play over one lucky round).

There is no entry fee and prizes are based on attendance, but the winner will receive a blood mark ((legend mark)) showing their victory in this tournament.

Before attending, make sure you read the rules and tournament structure for this event.

If you don’t understand how to play, you may ask any Barbarian to teach you the game.

We’ll see you soon at the slaughter.

With regards,

The Horde

Winder,

The Merciless

Structure

Divisions:

1. Warriors and Rogues (Level 99+)

2. Warriors and Rogues (Level 98-)

Tournament Structure:

There is no limit on how many participants may attend a single tournament. However, Tournaments that fail to have at least 8 participants in attendance will be cancelled.

Each participant will play in a total of 3 matches. In each of these matches, the winner will receive 4 points, second place will receive 3 points, third place will receive 2 points, and fourth place will receive 1 point. Disqualifications result in 0 points.

The top eight in points will advance into two quarter-final matches and points will be reset.

Three matches will be played under the same system, with the same two groups playing three matches.

The top two from each group in points after the three matches will advance to the semi-final and points will be reset.

Three matches will be played under the same system with all four remaining players; the top two in points after three matches will advance to the finals and their points will be reset.

The top two players will play three matches one-on-one, best two of three.

If there are any ties in points between two or more people that effect advancement in the tournament, those ties will be resolved in a single sudden death match between those affected where the winner(s) will be granted 1 additional point (and thus advance). For example, a three-way tie over one spot will result in one point being given to the winner, whereas a three-way tie over two spots will result in one point being given to both first and second place.

As you can see, this structure rewards strong, consistent, and skilled play. Depending on luck, cheating, and other one time miracles won’t save you if you can not fend for yourself.

Prizes:

The winner will receive a blood mark (branding) from our family. Blood marks will stack, that is, the branding (Victorious in X Tournaments of the Horde) will show how many tournaments you have won.

Additional prizes will be awarded to both participants and winners, based on attendance. The more that attend, the more likely additional prizes will be given. In most cases, second and third place will receive prizes greater in value than a Riches Carnage in additional to the blood mark given for first place.

Rules

1. By entering the Tournament you agree to these rules and all consequences thereof. You agree to respect and abide by all of the hosts judgments in all cases and under any circumstances. You also agree to follow the Cave Guidelines (Barbarian runes post #136) and all consequences/procedures explained within it.

2. The host is the sole judge of rule violations and declaring victors. Do not disrespect the host or participants. The host reserves the right to remove anyone breaking the rules or causing disruptions. Those who continually break rules, lie to the host, or continually disrupt the event will be banished from the area.

3. The only spells allowed are: Lethal Strike, Desperate Attack, Berserk, Whirlwind and Soothe as well as their Ming-Ken, Kwi-Sin, and Ohaeng variants. This means spells not explicitly listed here are STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Use of ANY other spell will result in your disqualification for that round. Future offenses will result in either ejection or banishment from the area.

4. All participants may NOT wear ANY form of armor or weapon at any time. You will wear NOTHING at all times. Use of any form of armor or weapon will result in your disqualification for that round. Future offenses will result in either ejection or banishment from the area.

5. All Potions, Scrolls, Food, Arrows, Bombs and Items are NOT allowed. There are five items exempt from this rule and ARE allowed: Memory Blossom, Root liquor, Rice wine, Herb pipe, and Sonhi pipe.

6. Those with superior vitality stats in comparison to their direct competition will be forced to get rid of some (by using a vitality attack or being weakened by someone else) before the round starts. This is up to the host’s discretion.

7. Before each round, all participants will be scourged to ensure they are being forced to heal out. Removing this scourge in anyway will result in disqualification for that round; Future offenses will result in either ejection or banishment from the area.

8. Rogues shall be required to “Desperate Attack” (Ka~!) before they play each match.

9. Non-participating spectators are permitted, but must remain outside the pit at all times. They may not interfere with a round in ANY way. Those that do will be immediately removed and possibly banished from the area.

10. If you need to leave, you may leave at any time; you will forfeit and thus be eliminated.

11. You may not use Genghis Khan or Min-Kahn to Observe, Participate, or Reincarnate at any time while participating in a round.

12. You are expected to follow “how the game is played”. Playing the game improperly (for example, staying in the middle) will result in your disqualification from that round. Future offenses will either result in your ejection or banishment from the area.

13. Only 1 character per actual player may enter. Breaking this rule will result in disqualifications for all characters involved and possible banishment from the area.
